Write a Post
There are two ways to write a post to your class;
1) Posting from the Newsfeed
- Click 'Newsfeed' at the top of the screen > select [Posts] on the left menu. (It may be selected by default)
- Click the white box that says 'Write here' and select the class to write your post. (Be aware: if you select your name, you are posting to your home and your class members may not be able to see your posting.)
- Select groups to view your post by checking Teacher, Student, and/or Parent.
- Click [Post] button to upload.
2) Posting from the Class
- Click 'Classes' at the top of the screen and select the class to post in.
- Click [Posts] on the left menu.
- Click the white box that says 'Write here' and write a post.
- Select groups to view your post by checking Teacher, Student, and/or Parent.
- Click [Post] button to upload.
*The teacher (class administrator) has access to all posts in a class, regardless of the privacy setting.
Attach Photos / Videos / Files
- Attach photos: Click the camera button and select a photo to upload. (if you attach a photo to a post, the photo is automatically uploaded to the main album. To upload into separate albums, upload from the album screen.)
- Attach videos: Click the video camera button and select a video to upload.
- Attach files: Click the clip icon and select a file to attach.
Insert a YouTube Video
Classting recognizes URLs from YouTube. Previews are automatically generated and playback is supported within the posting.
- How to embed URL: right-click the video > click ‘copy video URL’ > right-click the displayed URL > click ‘copy’ > right click the write-post screen in Classting > click ‘paste’
Insert Articles
Classting recognizes article URLs and automatically generates a preview.
- How to embed URL: right-click the article URL > click ‘copy’ > right click the write-post screen in Classting > click ‘paste’
Select Topic for Your Post
Topic is a feature for categorizing and organizing posts by subjects. The posts in the class can be filtered by Topics.
A list of topics can be created by the administrator (teacher) of your class. When writing a post, you can select an applicable topic. If there is no topic in the list, you do not need to select a topic.
Edit Your Post
Posts may only be edited by the original author.
- Click the Menu button located on the bottom of the post to be edited.
- Select [Edit post] and edit post.
- Click 'Save' to apply changes.
Change Privacy Settings
Privacy settings of a post may only be edited by the original author.
- Click the grey button (Members/Teacher/Student/Parent) located under your name to change the privacy settings.
- Select group(s) to view your post. (Choose from 'Teacher, Student, Parent')
- Select [Done] to apply any changes made.
Delete Your Post
Posts may only be deleted by the original author.
- Click the Menu button located on the bottom of the post to be deleted.
- Select [Delete post] to delete the post.
Comment to a Post
Click the white bar that says 'Comment' under the post to leave a comment.
Light Up a Post
If you see a post that you like or agree with, click the lightbulb to light up the post!
Share a Post
You can 'Share post' when you wish to share a post to another class.
Click the arrow button in the right bottom corner of the post > select class to share.
*Posts with attached files cannot be shared.
Bookmark a Post
- Click the Menu button located on the bottom of the post to be shared.
- Select [Bookmark post].
Bookmarked posts can be found under My Home - Bookmarks. (Click your profile on the upper right side of the screen - click 'Go to Home' - click 'Bookmarks')
Report a Post
- Click the Menu button on the post to be reported.
- Select [Report].
- Select your reason for reporting and click [Report].
Hide a Post
Posts that a user wishes not to see in the Newsfeed can be hidden using the [Hide] function. Click the Menu button located on the bottom of the post and select [Hide].
